Box Score DULUTH, Minn. – Minnesota Morris (9-8, 8-3 UMAC) fell 3-1 on Friday afternoon to the St. Scholastica Saints. With the win the Saints secured the number one spot in the UMAC Tournament. The Cougars slipped into a tie for the number two spot.
The Saints scored two early goals to put immediate pressure on the Cougars. The first goal came in the 8
th minute and the second goal came in the 12
th minute. The match settled down after that and the Cougars outshot the Saints 7-6 in the first half but could not register a goal.
In the 81
st minute CSS made it 3-0 to put the match out of reach.
Shingo Yamane scored his fifth goal of the season in the 84
th minute thanks to an assist by
Ebrima Badgie but it was a little too late for the Cougars. The match featured 26 fouls and four yellow cards. Badgie will miss the next match because of yellow card accumulation.
