Box Score 2 MORRIS, Minn. – The Cougars (21-9, 12-0 UMAC) matched their win total from last season with a pair of sweeps over Crown and Presentation on Tuesday night. The win over Crown means the Cougars will play for at least a share of the UMAC Championship on Saturday.
Cougar seniors have now won 81 matches in their careers which is third most for any class in school history. The 1994 and 1995 senior classes each won 87 matches.
Minnesota Morris swept Crown 25-13, 25-14, 25-14 before sweeping Presentation 25-14, 25-18, 25-15. Against Crown,
Alyssa Haugen led the offense with eight kills.
Addie Vancura and
Abby Tietz each had 5.
Kaylie Clark added ten digs, the only Cougars to have double digit digs.
Mandy Allman had 17 assists. The offense hit .364 with 40 kills and eight errors.
In the match against Presentation
Cori Becker led the way with 12 kills as the team hit .428.
Emily Auch had nine kills and six digs. Clark added 16 digs defensively and Allman had 20 set assists. Haugen and Tietz each had seven kills. Offensively the hitting percentages of .364 and .428 were the highest consecutive match percentages on the year.
Next up for Morris will be a home match on Friday night against North Central. A win over the Rams would guarantee at least a share of the UMAC Regular Season Championship. On Saturday the Cougars take on Northwestern at noon, it will be a "De facto" regular season UMAC Championship match. Following the match with the Eagles, UMM will take on Concordia Moorhead at 2 p.m. to close out the regular season.
