Cougars Host Knights in Semi-Final

MORRIS, Minn. – For the first time in school history the Cougars volleyball team will host a first round UMAC Tournament match. Tonight at 7 p.m. Minnesota Morris will host Martin Luther as both teams attempt to reach the 2013 UMAC Championship. WATCH LIVE
 
The Cougars are fresh off a weekend that saw them clinch a share of the UMAC regular season title. Kaylie Clark is the current UMAC Defensive Player of the Week and the Knights will counter UMAC Offensive Player of the Week with Rebecca Engelbrecht. Engelbrecht has been named the UMAC Offensive Player of the Week six times this season.
 
In two matches this year UMM swept MLC in Morris and beat them 3-1 in New Ulm. Emily Auch and Abby Tietz each had double digit kills in the sweep. Kayley Siekmann had 20 assists and Mandy Allman had 18. Kaylie Clark had 19 digs. The team also had 13 blocks compared to six for the Knights. In the win in New Ulm, Auch and Tietz were again effective offensively. Tietz led the way with 18 kills and Auch had 10. Tietz also added 13 digs; Clark had 26 digs to lead the team defensively. The team had 16 block assists in the victory as well.
