Spring Trip Ends as Cougars Fall Twice

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – In their final day on the field, the Cougars (1-9) fell twice, losing 7-0 to Mansfield and 11-2 in five to Rutgers-Camden. The Cougars finished their spring trip with a 1-6 record after beating Clarion to start the trip on Monday. 
 
In the first game of the day Mansfield scored in a run in the second and third inning to get up to an early lead. The game was broken open in the top of the fourth as Mansfield scored three more runs to make it 5-0. All three runs were unearned as a one out error came back to cost the Cougars. Two more runs in the top of the sixth made it 7-0 and that is where the game ended.
 
In their third matchup with Rutgers-Camden on the trip the Cougars fell 11-2. Rutgers got up early scoring six runs in the first three innings. Brooke Decker scored an unearned run in the bottom of the third to cut thelead to 6-1. After RUC got the run back in the top of the fourth, Jordan Iverson and the Cougars got that run back in the bottom of the inning but RUC would score four more in the top of the fifth and won 11-2.
