Men and Women Take Second

MORRIS, Minn. – The Minnesota Morris Cougars did not let the weather rain on their parade finishing second in both the men's and women's track and field championships. The men had four champions and the women had five champions. FULL RESULTS
 
Kaitlinn Kamm took home an individual championship in the 100m hurdles and in the high jump. She finished the 100m hurdles in a time of 15.55 and her high jump was 1.55m. Amanda Peters took home a championship with a time of 19:20.49 in the 5000m run, Rachel Wigenbach finished the same 5000m in a time of 19:48.01 to take third.
 
The Cougars swept one through third in the hammer throw. Kaylie Clark was first with a throw of 44.69m, Katia Vantries was second throwing 44.43m and Kat Nelson took third with a throw of 44.05m. Clark was also the javelin champion winning by almost 10 feet after her toss of 39.39m.
 
The women's 4x400m relay team of Kelsi Kolle, Alicia Doerr, Teja Foy and Kaitlinn Kamm took second with a time of 52.04. Laura Borkenhagen took second in the 1500m in a time of 5:05.27 and her teammate Halee Morris was third in a time of 5:17.57.
 
Alicia Doerr was third in the 100m dash crossing the line in a time of 13.13. Zoe Bergstrom was third in the 800m thanks to a time of 2:29.72. Anna Peterson also had a third place finish, she took third in the 200m in a time of 27.75.
 
Chalmer Combellick was the champion in the 1500m and the 5000m. His time in the 1500m was a new meet record, finishing in a time of 4:01.91. His 5000m was just about four second off the all-time pace as he crossed the line in 16:02.73.
 
Zeke Miller was the UMAC champion in the shot put with a toss of 13.36m and was third in the 100m dash in a time of 11.30 and third in the discus with a toss of 40.24m.
 
Ben Kettler took home the title in the hammer throw with a toss of 46.52m.
 
Nathan Harder and Ryan DeRoeck finished two, three in the 110m hurdles finishing with times of 15.18 and 15.25 respectively. DeRoeck also took second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 56.40 and third in the high jump with a height of 1.80m. Ian Karlsrud threw his javelin 46.70m to take second. Erik Brady was third in the pole vault getting over the bar at 3.67m.
