Box Score NEW ULM, Minn. – Minnesota Morris (3-6, 2-1 UMAC) scored twice in a matter of minutes in the opening 12 minutes of play to propel the Cougars over Martin Luther (2-6, 1-2 UMAC) by the score of 5-2 on Friday.
Ebrima Badgie had a pair of goals and an assist as eight different players got in the box score for UMM.
In the tenth minute
John Hastings put Morris up one thanks to an assist from
Dan Stoterau. Badgie made it 2-0 in the 12
th minute scoring off a pass from
Matt Vik. Just before half
Austin Keller scored his first UMM goal of his career, and
Seth Krueger had an assist to make it 3-0.
Martin Luther would pull within two at 3-1 in the 60
th minute but another quick scoring strike by Morris would make it 5-1.
Devin Chuba scored in the 70
th minute after Badgie got him the ball. Badgie scored his second goal of the match in the 74
th minute as
Devin Chuba returned the favor picking up the assist on the Badgie goal. The Knights scored a goal in the 78
th minute but the Cougars walked away with the win.
Tomorrow Morris will take on Bethany Lutheran in Mankato, Minnesota in the UMAC Game of the Week. The match will start at Noon.
