NEW ULM, Minn. – The Cougars (6-4-2, 5-1-2 UMAC) used three different goal scorers to earn a 3-0 win over Martin Luther (3-8, 3-5 UMAC) on Saturday afternoon. Minnesota Morris outshot the Knights 25-8 in the match including an 11-1 advantage in the second half.
 
Shingo Yamane put Morris on the board in the 31^st minute scoring unassisted. It was the long goal in the first half as Morris held a 14-7 advantage in shots.
 
Bennett Purfeerst scored in the 51^st minute to double the Cougars lead. He scored thanks to the help of Michael Schuweiler. Zachary Jacobson scored on the Cougars next shot in the match, making it 3-0 in the 59^th minute of play.
 
Morris will now travel to Northwestern and North Central next weekend.
