EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The Cougars (18-7) fought hard against a Wisconsin Oshkosh (21-3) team on Friday afternoon but fell (25-11, 23-25, 25-20, 25-19).
Abby Tietz tied her season high with 17 kills while hitting .500 on the afternoon.
Morris was unable to get anything going offensively in the first set and quickly fell 25-11. They responded with a gritty effort in the second set while hitting .324 as a team to hang on for a 25-23 win.
Oshkosh went up early in the third set but the Cougars battled back and pulled within one late in the set. Unfortunately for the Cougars they could not complete the comeback and fell 25-20. The fourth set saw the Cougars take an early lead but Oshkosh found a way to tie the set and eventually take a lead. Morris threatened to pull off another comeback but came up short, as the Titans took the set 25-19.
