MORRIS, Minn. – Minnesota Morris (8-4-2) weathered the wind and the Concordia Cobbers (1-12-1) on Wednesday afternoon, pulling out a 1-0 victory.
Victor Aanerud scored the lone goal for Morris; scoring in first half when UMM had the wind in their favor.
Aanerud made it 1-0 early, scoring off a nice pass from
Devin Chuba in the 10
th minute. Morris racked up four shots on goal in the period.
Zachary Jacobson proved dangerous from long range on free kicks, nearly sneaking a couple past the Cobbers goalie. Moorhead nearly scored early in the first half as well, hitting the cross bar on a shot form 25 yards out.
The second half Concordia tried to put more pressure on the Cougars but could not break through. The Cobbers found it very tough to really get any scoring chances in the match and had just one shot on goal in the 90 minutes of action.
The Cougars will return to UMAC play this Friday as they host Crown at 1 p.m.
