MORRIS, Minn. – The Cougars (9-4-2, 7-1-2 UMAC) men's soccer team will face a pair of teams this weekend that they earned a tie against on the opening weekend of the UMAC season. Morris tied Crown (8-5-2, 6-3-1 UMAC) 1-1 and Bethany Lutheran (4-10-2, 4-4-2 UMAC) 2-2 back in September.
A pair of victories for the Cougars would secure them a spot in the UMAC tournament and clinch the number two seed, securing a home first round tournament game. The match with Crown will be the UMAC Game of the Week.
Minnesota Morris has won five straight while outscoring their opponents 10-0. They have allowed just three goals in their last nine matches.
Morris continues to find scoring from different players, 14 different Cougars have a goal this year and 15 have at least one point.
Shingo Yamane leads the team with seven goals and two assists.
Defensively the Cougars rank 23
rd in the nation in shutout percentage, thanks to nine shutouts this year.
