MORRIS, Minn. – Minnesota Morris (11-4-1, 10-0-1 UMAC) cruised by Crown (4-12-1, 2-9 UMAC) on Friday afternoon 7-0. They scored their seven goals on just 13 shots on the day.
Molly Hancuh had her first career hat trick; she also added an assist on the afternoon.
Emma LaChance gave the Cougars the lead just 57 seconds into the match, scoring off a cross from Hancuh. About 11 minutes later Hancuh scored a goal of her own as LaChance returned the favor finding her with a nice through ball in the box. Less than two minutes later LaChance scored her second goal of the match after taking control of a rebound and floating it over the keeper, who had come out of the net, to make it 3-0.
Lindsay Clay scored her first college goal in the 25
th minute to extend the lead to 4-0, volleying home a cross from
Christina Mollan. Morris out shot Crown 11-2 in the first half and had eight first half corners.
Justine Wolf scored her first goal of the season in the 50
th minute as the lead grew to five early in the second half.
Ivie Brooks found Hancuh in the 65
th minute and she put it in the back of the net for her second goal of the match. In the 73
rd minute Hancuh converted a penalty, wrapping up the scoring with the Cougars winning 7-0.
The Cougars clinched a home match for the UMAC Tournament on November 5.
