MORRIS, Minn. – Minnesota Morris (5-4-2, 4-1-2 UMAC) and Martin Luther (3-7, 3-4 UMAC) remained scoreless until Zachary Jacobson put a shot past keeper Caleb King in the 85^th minute to give the Cougars a 1-0 win on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Cougars had nine first half shots but either missed the frame of goal or hit it right at King, who had three first half saves. Martin Luther had one shot on net in the first 45 minutes of the contest but did not score.
 
Cody Christ came through with four saves in the second half to keep the Knights off the board. Offensively, Morris had six shots in the second, putting two on net. The first one was saved but the second one, found its way to the back of the net, making it 1-0. The Knights could not respond in the final five minutes as the Cougars successfully played keep-a-way late in the half.
 
The same two teams meet each other on Saturday at noon in New Ulm, kicking off the second half of the UMAC season.
