MORRIS, Minn. – Minnesota Morris, (13-5-1, 12-1-1 UMAC) rebounded from their only UMAC loss on Saturday with a 4-1 win over the Northland LumberJills (11-8-1, 7-7 UMAC). Morris scored four goals in a span of about forty minutes to earn the victory.
Ivie Brooks had a pair of goals and an assist for the Cougars.
Brooks got the scoring started in the 8
th minute, netting an unassisted goal from head on inside the box. Ten minutes later
Kelsi Kolle made it 2-0 from just outside the 18 after a pass from
Christina Mollan. Senior
Rachael Berns made it 3-0 in the 39
th minute, as Brooks found her at the top of the 18.
Just out of the break, Brooks scored her second of the match thanks to the help of
Lindsay Clay. The LumberJills would pick up a goal in the 65
th minute cutting the lead to three but that would be all the scoring they could do.
Morris honored their seniors prior to the match on Saturday afternoon.
The Cougars will now play host to Bethany Lutheran at 2 p.m. on Wednesday in the UMAC Semi-Finals.
