MORRIS, Minn. – Men's soccer is back in action on Tuesday as the Cougars (12-5-2) host Northwestern (7-11-2) in the UMAC Semi-Final at 2 p.m. Minnesota Morris will try to get past the Eagles for the fourth straight year.
Last year the Cougars beat Northwestern 2-1 in St. Paul to advance to the UMAC Championship match. The previous two UMAC Semi-Final matches between the two teams went to the shootout, with the Cougars emerging victories both times.
This season the Cougars beat Northwestern twice, one by the score of 6-0 and one by the score of 1-0. Morris did not allow a goal in nine of their ten UMAC victories this season and were 8-2 at home this season.
Cody Christ is first in the UMAC in save percentage this season and a big reason why the Cougars were able to secure a first round match this season.
Northwestern is looking to make their first appearance in the UMAC Championship since 2006. The Eagles have been a regular in the UMAC Semi-Finals and will look to get some revenge after falling to the Cougars at home last season.
