Offense Explodes in Win

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 FT. MYERS, Fla. – Minnesota Morris (4-4) split on their third day in Florida to stay .500 on the year. The day started with a 17-3 rout of Wentworth before a tough 1-0 loss to Saint Joseph's ended the day.

Pitching was the story of game two as the Cougars and Saint Joseph's couldn't muster much offense. The two teams had chances to score, having a player reach base in each of the first four innings. Unfortunately, for the Cougars they could not find a way to score. They would leave a runner on third in the second and third innings.

After failing to have a runner reach base in the top of the fifth, Saint Joseph's had the momentum and took advantage. They picked up a leadoff single and a one out error, threatening to break the tie. Mackenzie Weatherly was able to induce a fly ball out, however it was deep enough to allow the runner to score from third. It would be the lone run in the game and the Cougars would not be able to respond in their final two at bats.

Stats for the game with Wentworth are not available at this time. They will be updated later.

The spring trip will wrap up tomorrow as the Cougars take on Wartburg College and Eastern Nazarene.
