Box Score MORRIS, Minn. – The men's soccer team fell 3-0 in their season opener to Saint John's on Friday afternoon. The Johnnies scored a goal in the 27
th minute to open up the scoring and the Cougars were unable to find a way to put the ball in the back of the net.
Saint John's had chances early in the match but could not capitalize as the score remained tied at zero. They did convert in the 27
th minute as the ball fell at the feet of Zach Wright, who put a shot just under
Cody Christ's hands. SJU had a 7-1 advantage in shots in the first half but led just 1-0.
Devin Chuba nearly equalized in the opening few minutes of the second half but Kevin Lebahn came up big for the Johnnies in net. Saint John's tacked on a pair of second half goals to put the game away.
The Cougars will be back in action tomorrow afternoon as they host Central College at 3 p.m.
