MORRIS, Minn. – The Minnesota Morris Cougars (0-2) dropped their second straight game on Saturday falling 44-9 to a tough running Grenville Panthers squad. Greenville was able to run 82 plays in just 30 minutes of offensive time, which eventually took its toll on the Cougars defense.
Greenville took the opening kick and went 75 yards on seven plays to go up 7-0 less than two minutes into the game. Morris was unable to get a lot going early and the Panthers made it 13-0 with another touchdown, using a seven yard pass to complete an 11 play drive.

Drew Marshall forced a fumble and the Cougars took over on the Greenville 16 yard line. After three plays that lost seven players
Caleb McLaren entered the game on fourth down and threw a touchdown pass to
Tyler Peterson, cutting the lead to seven.
Early in the second quarter Greenville scored on a 46 yard pass play, giving them a 20-6 lead. Minnesota Morris responded with a nine play drive that was capped off by a
Jon Henry 22 yard field goal cutting the lead to 11.
McLaren threw for 122 yards and touchdown in the first half. Peterson finished the half with 76 yards on four catches and a touchdown.
Greenville ran for 138 yards on 21 carries in the half, led by Eric Northey who had 46 yards on four carries. Northey also had 50 yards through the air and a touchdown.
Cody Hickman had eight tackles in the first half to lead all players.
The Panthers rushing attack took over in the second half of the game and it showed on the scoreboard. Greenville ran the ball for 252 yards in the second half, scoring 24 points on the way to a 44-9 victory. They would finish the game with a total of 390 yards on the ground.
Offensively Morris was held to just 146 yards of total offense. Hickman finished the game with 17 tackles, 1.5 for loss, a half sack and forced fumble.
Logan Nordly and Marshall each finished with 12 tackles.
Evan Guffey had three catches for 57 yards.
