MORRIS, Minn. – Men's soccer picked up another win on Saturday, improving to 2-0-2 in the UMAC. The Cougars (3-3-2, 2-0-2 UMAC) beat North Central (0-6, 0-4 UMAC) 2-0 in a game that saw UMM have 12 shots on goal. The defense did not give up a shot on goal in the match.
Morris had14 shots in the first half but were unable to score. Both the Cougars and the Rams hit the crossbar, nearly resulting in a 1-1 tie at the break. North Central's keeper was forced to make a big save in the first half, diving to his left, knocking the ball just wide of the frame.
The Cougars found a way past the North Central defense in the second half.
Bona Usha opened the scoring by taking a pass from
Michael Schuweiler and beating a defender before placing it in the back of the net. In the 73
rd minute
Shingo Yamane hit a great ball across the frame of net that and
Devin Chuba back heeled it, into the net.
Minnesota Morris will be on the road next weekend, taking on St. Scholastica and Northland.
