MORRIS, Minn. – Minnesota Morris (3-9, 1-0 UMAC) will be on the road this weekend as they continue conference play. The Cougars are coming off an 88-47 win over Crown last Saturday in Morris to begin the conference season. They will travel to take on Bethany Lutheran tomorrow before meeting Martin Luther on Saturday.
Though it is early in the conference season, UMM looks at this weekend as launching point for the rest of the 14 game conference schedule. It is the first set of back-to-back games for the Cougars since the opening weekend of the season.
Bethany comes into the game having lost eight straight including a six point loss to Martin Luther to begin conference play last weekend. Both the Cougars and Vikings have played Wartburg and Mayville State this year but neither team was victorious.
The Vikings (1-11, 0-1 UMAC) are averaging 52.8 points per game in 2014 and are led by Angela DeBruzzi, who is scoring 14 points per game. Briana Brandts is close to a double-double per game, scoring 9.3 points and grabbing 8.5 rebounds per game.
Turnovers have been a problem for BLC, averaging 22.5 per game but they have also forced 19.5 turnovers thanks to 10.7 steals per game.
Martin Luther (2-9, 1-0 UMAC) will host Crown on Friday night before hosting Morris on Saturday. The Knights had lost six straight before picking up the win over Bethany Lutheran last Saturday. The MLC offense is scoring 61.9 points per game this season while shooting 35.8% from the field.
Five Knights are averaging at least nine points per game in 2014. Mariah Schoof is averaging 12.4 points per game while averaging 4.4 rebounds per game. Erin Schmeling and Grace Schultz are each averaging over ten points per game.
Morris is averaging 68.8 points per game this season while shooting over 40% from the field. They are making 7.2 three pointers per game this season.
Kendra Wycoff who had a season high 20 points last Saturday, is averaging 15.3 points per game.
Emily Auch is scoring 10.7 points per contest this year.

Kayla Kraemer are scoring over nine points per game.
Offensively, the Cougars are averaging an assist on half of their made baskets this year. The team has struggled from the foul line making just 61.7% of their attempts. Defensively Minnesota Morris is forcing 18.5 turnovers per game and averaging 6.8 steals.
