MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Minnesota Morris (5-11, 5-4-1 UMAC) clinched the three seed with a 3-1 victory over North Central (6-9-2, 4-5-1 UMAC) on Saturday. The Cougars will play at Wisconsin Superior in the UMAC Semifinals on November 4
th. Morris has two more regular season games remaining.
Joshua Bartels helped the Cougars get off to a quick start by scoring a goal in the seventh minute. The match stayed 1-0 until the second half. It was a competitive first half of play with Morris edging the Rams 6-5 in shots.
North Central tied the match in the 54
th minute with a header.
Zachary Jacobson put the Cougars back on top in the 68
th minute. With the Rams pushing for the tying goal late in the match the Cougars were able to put the game away with another goal by Bartels in the 85
th minute. Morris finished with a two shots on goal advantage in the game.
Minnesota Morris will be on the road at Concordia-Moorhead tomorrow afternoon at 3 p.m.
