MOORHEAD, Minn. – Minnesota Morris (5-12-1) could not overcome two early goals from Concordia Moorhead (4-12) in a 4-1 loss. Morris will have one more game remaining before the UMAC Tournament.
Jacob Schmidt gave the Cobbers a 1-0 lead with a goal in the ninth minute of play. Dami Adegunle made it 2-0 in the 24
th minute. The Cobbers were able to out shoot the Cougars 9-4 in the first 45 minutes of play. Each team had four corner kicks in the half.
Shingo Yamane gave Morris life when he scored a goal in the 55
th minute.
Zachary Jacobson got the assist on Yamane's goal. Unfortunately Schmidt responded just over a minute later to give Concordia a two goal cushion. Concordia would add another goal in the 64
th minute to win 4-1.
The Cougars wrap up regular season play on Friday when they take on Crown in a non-conference match.
