ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. – Minnesota Morris (5-12-2) saw the regular season come to a close with a 1-1 tie at Crown College (2-12-4) in a non-conference matchup.
Austin Keller scored his fourth goal of the season in the match. Morris outshot the Storm 7-5 in a tightly contested game.
Keller put the Cougars up early with a tenth minute goal.
Luqman Barre and
Joshua Bartels picked up assists on the goal. Morris kept the Storm off the scoreboard in the first half.
Cody Christ made two saves in his 45 minutes of action.
In the second half Crown got back in the match thanks to penalty kick in the 67
th minute. Both teams failed to break through the rest of the match and regulation came to an end with the score 1-1.
In the second overtime period Morris put up five shots but could not get one to fall into the back of the net.
Minnesota Morris will now enter UMAC Tournament play, starting Wednesday with a semi-final matchup at Wisconsin-Superior.
