FT. MYERS, Fla. – Morris dropped their fifth straight game on Saturday, dropping a 9-0 contest to North Park and a 10-3 game to Johns Hopkins.
Jackson Gessell had a two run triple against Johns Hopkins, the first triple of the year for the Cougars.
Vs North Park North Park didn't have any huge innings but scored six separate innings to win the game 9-0. They held UMM to just four hits in the game, while striking out eight Cougars.
Eric Terres had a good game with a pair of hits. Morris was only able to get one runner past second base in the game as North Park cut down three base runners while on the base path.
Vs Johns Hopkins JHU struck for five runs in the first inning to quickly go up on the Cougars. They would tack on four more runs by the end of the seventh to increase their lead to 10-0 before Morris got on the board. The Cougars had three straight hits to open the eighth including a two-run triple by Gessell to score Willie Fust and
Trent Johnson.
Tomorrow the Cougars take on Dubuque at 9 a.m. eastern time. They will then wrap up their spring trip on Monday against SUNY Plattsburgh at 9 a.m. eastern.
