MANKATO, Minn. – The Minnesota Morris (3-7, 3-1 UMAC) offense came alive on Tuesday afternoon scoring six goals in the last 60 minutes of play for a 6-0 win over Bethany Lutheran (1-7-2, 1-3-1 UMAC).
Bona Usha had a pair of goals in the Cougars victory.
In the first 30 minutes the Cougars had five shots but the game remained scoreless. In the 32
nd minute
Shingo Yamane found
Jacob Sphatt and he put UMM on the board. Just over a minute later Usha scored his first goal of the game thanks to some help from
Konrad Laack. Morris had a few more shots in the half but the score remained 2-0 at the break.
In the 50
th minute
Joshua Bartels put UMM back on the board connecting on a shot after being setup by
Austin Keller and
Victor Aanerud. Usha scored his second goal of the match in the 67
th minute making it 4-0. Five minutes later
Austin Keller made it 5-0 and then
Gannon Youakim made it 6-0 in the 89
th minute to wrap up the scoring.
In the match the Cougars racked up 25 shots compared to just three for the Vikings.
Cody Christ made two saves in the match to earn the clean sheet.
