SUPERIOR, Wis. – The Minnesota Morris Cougars made more noise at the second and final day at the UMAC Indoor Track and Field Championships. The women's team finished second with 173 points while the men finished third with 83 points, moving up one spot from yesterday.
Teja Foy set a UMAC record while winning the women's 60m dash in a time of 8.08, beating a four year-old mark by .02 seconds. Foy just missed a winning the 200m as well, taking second in a time of 26.58.
Sidney Paulson was fifth in the same event.
Justin Terry took first in the men's 60m in a time of 7.15 seconds.
Devan Griffin finished fourth in the same event. Terry made it two event championships by taking first in the 200m with a time of 22.83.
The women's distance runners performed well in the first race of the day, the one mile run.
Laura Borkenhagen and
Rachel Wingenbach finished second and third.
Hannah Goemann was fifth and
Elisabeth Anderson took seventh in mile run as well. Wingenbach then took fifth in the 3000m run in a time of 11:07.91.
Cole Kvistero was fifth in the 60m hurdles, crossing the line in 9.16 seconds.
In the field events, Griffin led the way by winning the triple jump by just .01m, after jumping 12.76m.
Justin Chute took fourth in the men's pole vault with a height of 3.50m.
Sami Brinkman was third in the shot put. She was followed by
Abigail Wisness who took fourth. Morris had four women score in the event.
Carly Denler was second in the pole vault, finishing with a height of 3.16m.
Alicia Doerr was third and
Molly McGrath was fifth in the same event. In the triple jump McGrath took third with a distance of 10.47m.
The Morris relay team of Paulson,
Emily Ciesynski, Borkenhagen and Foy took second with a time of 4:13.03 in the women's 4x400m.
