WINTERHAVEN, Fla. – Minnesota Morris (3-4) fell 7-5 to Fredonia (6-3) after six late runs for the Blue Devils.
Jackson Gessell and
Connor Spindler each had three hits for the Cougars on Friday. Spindler drove in two runs. A three run bases loaded double in the seventh was the back breaker for UMM in the seventh inning.
Spindler put Morris up 1-0 with an RBI single in the first inning.
Chandler Erickson made it 2-0 in the second inning with an RBI groundout. Fredonia got on the scoreboard in the fifth inning with an RBI ground out. Spindler gave UMM another two run lead with a single in the bottom of the fifth inning.
In the sixth inning Fredonia took the lead after three runs on five hits. Four straight hits in the inning tied the game at three. A fielder's choice put the Blue Devils up 4-3 before the end of the inning.
In the top of the seventh Fredonia quickly faced two outs but did not panic. They would rally for three runs and take a 7-3 lead before the inning ended. An error with two outs kept the inning going for the Blue Devils. Morris got back in the game with two runs on three hits in the bottom of the seventh.

Willie Fust made it 7-5 with a groundout to third.
Morris threatened in the eighth putting runners on second and third with two outs. They could not convert and the game stayed a two run game. The lead off runner got on in the bottom of the ninth but again Morris could not convert and the game ended.
