MORRIS, Minn. – The Minnesota Morris Cougars (2-12) are back in action tonight against Macalester College (4-10) at the Rosemount Dome. Games are scheduled for 6 and 8 p.m. This is the first double header for UMM since their spring trip last week.
 
The Cougars struggled early in Florida but ended with two wins on the final day of the trip. Morris has four players hitting over .300 this year led by Paige Larson's .391 batting average. Lacey Sullivan, Gina Downie and Bret Hulett are also hitting over .300.
 
Pitching and fielding will need to show up for the Cougars moving forward this season. Signs are there that this is happening. Elli Stevenson has allowed just two runs in her last 16 innings pitched. The defense has improved as well with the Cougars committing more than two errors just once in their last eight games.
