SUPERIOR, Wis. – Minnesota Morris (7-17, 0-4 UMAC) could only manage seven hits and two runs on Saturday, getting swept by Wisconsin-Superior (7-8, by scores of 11-1, 12-1. A ten run third inning in game one allowed the YellowJackets to grab a big edge. Another big third inning spurred Superior in game two as well, scoring eight runs.
The ten runs scored on eight hits and two errors.
Chandler Erickson was the first UMM batter up in the fourth and tried to show the Cougars were unfazed by the ten run inning, putting a ball over the fence in left. It would end up being the only UMM run as they scattered three hits over the rest of the contest.
Erickson put the Cougars on the board in game two as well, driving in
Zach Kuefler with a sac fly to left field. The 1-0 lead did not last long as Superior scored eight runs in the bottom of the inning. Three of the eight runs were unearned in the inning.
Superior added three more in the fourth on a three run double. The twelfth run of the game scored in the sixth via an error.
