NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Two school records fell on Saturday, a day after another Cougar athlete moved into the top-15 in their event in the NCAA. Friday night
Chalmer Combellick set a PR in the 1500m at the Phil Esten Challenge in La Crosse, Wis.
Combellick finished ninth in the race but moved into the top-15 with a time of 3:50.90.
Justin Terry was sixth in the 100m and 11
th in 200m on Friday night.
Laura Borkenhagen also competed on Friday night, taking 13
th in a very deep women's 1500m race.
On Saturday
Alicia Doerr broke her teammate
Carly Denler's school record in the pole vault with a height of 3.25m. She would also win the event by .15m. Doerr was also a force in the long jump, taking second with a mark of 5.22m.
Emily Ciesynski broke her own school record in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:05.30, good enough to win the event by .02 seconds.
Sidney Paulson was third in the 400m in a time of 59.12.
Teja Foy was second in the 100m dash in a time of 12.88.
Taylor Nordby took fifth in the javelin with a throw of 31.22m. In the long jump
Molly McGrath was fourth with a mark of 4.89m.
The Cougars will be back in action Tuesday at the Cobber Twilight in Moorhead.
