MORRIS, Minn. – Minnesota Morris (10-26) will take on Crown College (15-21) this afternoon in the UMAC Quarterfinals at 4 p.m. This year the Storm beat Morris twice but the two games were decided by a total of just two runs. The winner of today's single contest will advance to the four team, double elimination tournament this weekend in Duluth.
Morris has been hitting the ball well as of late and will need to do the same thing today against Crown. The Cougars have nine players hitting over .300 this season. In UMAC play six players are hitting over .370, led by
Alex Anderson who is hitting .429 with 13 runs scored.
Paige Larson is leading the team with 18 RBI's in conference play, averaging over an RBI per hit.
Stealing bases has also been a big factor for UMM in conference play, they are 34-38 in stolen bases.
Autumn Mahoney leads the way with then stolen bases in eleven attempts.
Crown has been led by Liz King on the mound in UMAC contests. She is 6-4 in UMAC play with a 2.18 ERA. Offensively the Storm is hitting .326 in their 16 UMAC games while holding opponents to .276 at the plate.
