NEW ULM, Minn. – Freshman Monica Calderon recorded a brace to lead the Minnesota Morris women's soccer team (4-6, 2-3 UMAC) past Martin Luther (5-7, 2-2 UMAC), 2-0, Tuesday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two teams went into halftime tied at 0-0 with the Cougars leading in shots, 12-4.
- Calderon scored her second goal of the season in the 49th minute to put the Cougars up 1-0.
- Calderon then scored her second goal of the day with 21 seconds left in regulation.
- The Cougars outshot the Knights, 19-6.
- Calderon led both teams in shots with six.
NOTABLES
- Cienik, a freshman, recorded her third career shutout.
- Calderon tallied her first career brace.
- Brooke Lorentz tallied her third assist of the season on the first goal of the day.
