MORRIS, Minn. – The UMN Morris volleyball team (14-10, 7-0 UMAC) swept the Northland LumberJills (9-15, 2-5 UMAC) Saturday afternoon inside the Cougar Sports Center. The Cougars won 25-16, 25-17, 25-11 on the day and with the victory, UMN Morris clinched at least a share of the 2019 UMAC regular season title.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two teams kept things close throughout the first set, but the Cougars went on a 7-2 run to close out the first set at 25-16.
- Early in the second set, Morgan Miller tallied her fifth kill of the match, which gave her 1,000 in her career. She is now one of nine Minnesota Morris student-athletes to reach 1,000 career kills.
- Similar to the first set, the Cougars used a late run to secure the second set at 25-17.
- The third set saw the Cougars jump out to a 15-6 lead and never looked back en route to a 25-11 third set victory and a 3-0 match victory.
NOTABLES
- Miller had a game-high 11 kills and tallied two aces and two blocks.
- The Cougars have won seven-straight matches, which includes five-straight sweeps.

The Cougars travel to Northwestern on Wednesday, Oct. 30. The match is slated for a 7 p.m. start in St. Paul, Minnesota. Wednesday's match is the UMAC regular season finale for the Cougars and Eagles.
