ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Morris women's soccer team (2-6, 0-3 UMAC) dropped a 3-1 decision at Northwestern (4-9, 1-1 UMAC) Wednesday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two teams went into halftime tied at 0-0 with Northwestern leading UMN Morris in shots, 12-2.
- Less than four minutes into the second half, Anna Welch put the Eagles in front of the Cougars, 1-0.
- Junior Sam Tate netted her fourth goal of the season to tie things up at 1-1 in the 62nd minute.
- The tie game didn't last long as Welch tallied her second goal of the game in the 64th minute to make it a 2-1 contest.
- Linley Norman tacked on an insurance goal for the Eagles in the 81st minute to secure the 3-1 victory.
- Bernadette Cienik tallied 11 saves in net for the Cougars.
- Brooke Lorentz and Tate led UMN Morris with three shots apiece.
- Northwestern outshot UMN Morris, 28-9.

- Sam Tate has either scored/assisted on every Cougar goal this season.
