AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The University of Minnesota Morris baseball team (2-4) was defeated by the Lawrence Vikings (3-6), 18-3, Friday afternoon. Freshman Alex Baumann had two RBI on the day for the Cougars.
Lawrence took an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second before the Cougars responded with three runs of their own in the top of the third, which included a two-run single from Baumann.
The game remained tied at 3-3 until the bottom of the fourth when the Vikings scored 13 runs and then they added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth to bring the score to 18-3.
Minnesota Morris is back in action on Saturday, March 23, at 1:30 p.m. (EDT) against St. Olaf.
