MORRIS, Minn. – Lionel Vang scored off a set piece with 46 seconds left in regulation to give the No. 9 Augsburg Auggies (4-0-1) a 1-0 win over the Minnesota Morris men's soccer team (0-6-0) Wednesday afternoon at Cougar Field.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Cougars fired their lone shot on goal in the first half at 32:50 as Garrett Kaelin made a save on Isaac Kauffman.

• In the 53rd minute, the Auggies hit the crossbar twice and then Jake Peterson stepped up to make a save on Vang.

• In the 83rd minute, Carter Watkinson fired a shot from distance that went just high of the net.

• With 1:29 to play in regulation, Zachary Berg made a save on Gabe Arreguin to keep the 0-0 score intact.

• Following a UMN Morris foul outside the Cougar penalty area, Vang connected on a free kick to put the Auggies in front, 1-0, with 46 seconds left to play in regulation.

NOTABLES

• Augsburg outshot Minnesota Morris, 36-3.

• Peterson finished with 11 saves on the afternoon.
