MORRIS, Minn. – The UMN Morris women's basketball team (13-9, 8-5 UMAC) took care of business Wednesday night inside the Cougar Sports Center as the Cougars topped Crown (4-18, 1-12 UMAC), 79-46. Mia Wassink tied a career-best 21 points on the evening to lead the Cougar offense.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cougars scored the first five points on the night and never looked back.
- After trailing by five points to start the game, Crown brought the game within three points three times, but UMN Morris responded each time.
- The Cougars took an 18-9 lead into the second quarter.
- During the second quarter, UMN Morris opened things up and Jadyn Sondrol capped off a 13-0 run to bring the score to 33-11 with 4:26 to go in the first half.
- After 20 minutes of play, the Cougars held a 43-22 lead over the Storm.
- With 3:43 to play in the third quarter, Sondrol scored a fast break basket to put the Cougars by 30 at 60-30.
- The Cougars then took a 66-30 lead into the fourth quarter and were able to finish out the game with the 79-46 victory.

- Freshman Ella Van Kempen led the Cougars in rebounds with a career-best eight.
