MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris women's soccer team fell to a potent Bethany Lutheran College squad on Tuesday afternoon, 4-0.
The scoring began in the 18th minute as Elena Lujan Rubio finished off a nicely-worked attack down the right wing. The Vikings continued to possess the ball and create numerous chances in the opening 45 minutes, finally putting a second in the back of the net in the 36th minute when Mia Saulter finished from a tight angle.
Malia Totoris and
Bella Toth produced shots on goal in the first half, but both were saved by BLC's Brooke Wolanin. The Cougars started well in the second half, but wouldn't put another shot on frame the rest of the way. Ashley Casper scored in the 69th minute and Emma Rowen tacked on another in the 74th minute to finish the scoring in the match.
Danielle Reinhard finished the afternoon with 12 saves.
Minnesota Morris will journey to take on the University of Wisconsin-Superior on Saturday, beginning at 2 p.m.
