MANKATO, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris men's soccer team fell to Bethany Lutheran College, 4-0, in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play Tuesday night in Mankato, Minn.

The Vikings improve to 9-5-2 overall and 9-1 in the UMAC, while the Cougars drop to 5-7-3 overall and 3-4-2 in conference play.

It didn't take long for Bethany Lutheran to test Cougar goalkeeper Nick Isensee, who made his first save in the third minute. In the 16th minute, the Vikings broke through with the opening goal. Jake Anargyros registered the Cougars' first shot but was unable to beat the keeper. Before the end of the first half, the Vikings added another goal to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.

Just three minutes into the second half, Bethany Lutheran was awarded a penalty kick and converted to extend their lead to 3-0. In the 51st minute, Isensee tied the program record for career saves. Aaron Mackall later had a chance to get Minnesota Morris on the board, but his shot was saved. In the final 15 minutes, the Vikings scored their fourth and final goal, closing out the match 4-0.

The Cougars recorded three shots on goal, with Anargyros leading the way with two and Mackall adding the other. In net, Isensee made seven saves, tying the all-time program record for career saves.
