Men’s Soccer kicks off 2025 season with home game against Trinity Bible

Cougars look to start 2025 campaign strong

MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris Men's Soccer team will kick off the 2025 season with a home game against Trinity Bible College on Friday at 2:30 p.m.

The Cougars are coming off a 4-2 victory in a scrimmage against Alexandria Technical & Community College on Tuesday. Blake Ordell enters his second season as head coach of the program with Dimitri Sofias entering his first year as the assistant coach. UMM returns three All-Conference players: Nick Isensee, Cade Simonson, and Aaron Mackall. Minnesota Morris has added 19 newcomers to the roster, including 17 first-year students. In the UMAC Coaches' Poll, the Cougars were predicted to finish sixth in the conference.
 
Last season, the Cougars posted a 5-15 overall record and finished fifth in the conference at 5-9. Mackall led the team in all offensive categories, including goals (10), assists (5), and points (25). In net, Isensee returns for his senior season after recording 143 saves during the 2024 campaign.
 
Trinity Bible dropped its season opener 7-1 to Emmaus Bible College last week. Damian Myers scored the lone goal for the Lions. Daniel Hawker begins his first season as head coach of TBC after serving as an assistant since 2021.
