ST. PAUL, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris women's soccer team fell 5-0 to the University of Northwestern in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play Wednesday evening in St. Paul, Minn.
Northwestern controlled play to start the game, with its first shot hitting the crossbar. The Eagles continued to put pressure on UMM, resulting in the opening goal in the ninth minute. Before halftime, UNW added three more goals to take a 4-0 lead. Less than two minutes into the second half, the Eagles scored their final goal. For the final 43 minutes, the Cougar defense held UNW out of the net.
The Cougars were unable to record a shot in the contest.
Caitlin Lau,
Gracelin Challeen, and
Aime Bustillos played the full 90 minutes in the field.
Katelin McElroy came off the bench and played 70 minutes. In goal,
Mackenzie Dolata made the start and finished with nine saves.
The Cougars host North Central University on Saturday with a noon kickoff for Homecoming.
