Box Score SUPERIOR, Wis. – After being unable to score in their first three matches of the season the Cougars (1-3) scored four goals on Sunday to get their first win of the season. Morris used a pair of goals in the first and second halves to earn a 4-0 win over Wisconsin-Superior (0-4).
The two first half goals for the Cougars came just about three minutes apart, giving UMM a 2-0 lead after 12 minutes of play.
Christina Mollan scored her first goal of the season in the 9
th minute thanks to an assist from
Lindsay Clay, her first as a Cougar.
Molly Hancuh scored her first career goal in the 12
th minute, converting a pass from
Justine Wolf. Minnesota Morris had an 11-2 shot advantage in the first half.
Morris doubled their score quickly in the second half, scoring a goal in the 53
rd and 57
th minute.
Rachael Berns made it 3-0 and then Mollan scored her second goal of the game giving UMM the 4-0 lead.
Next Sunday the Cougars will be at Wisconsin River Falls to finish off their non-conference portion of the schedule.
