Morris – The Minnesota Morris baseball team will be back at home this week (Apr. 17, 21 and 22) for the first time since last Tuesday (Apr. 10). The Cougars will be hosting NAIA school Mayville state tomorrow (Apr. 17) and conference opponent Northland (Apr. 21 and 22).
The Cougars are coming off being swept by Northwestern over the weekend, they lost all three game by a combined score of four runs. Morris will try to get back in the playoff hunt against Northland. The Cougars and Comets will play a doubleheader tomorrow (Apr. 17) starting at 2:00 p.m. Morris and Northland will play a doubleheader on Saturday (Apr. 21) starting at 1:00 and on Sunday (Apr. 22) will play one game starting at 1:00 p.m.
Overall Morris is 4-20 on the season.
Home sweet home: The Cougars are 4-1 on the season, compared to 0-11 away from Cougar Diamond field.
Last season: The Cougars and Comets did not play last season, but did play in 2009 with Mayville State winning both meetings, 6-0, 8-2 respectively. Morris took all three games from Northland last season (7-5, 2-0, 8-5).
