Box Score 2 MORRIS, Minn. – Volleyball split their two matches on Friday in Colorado, beating Simpson College 3-1 and falling to #8 Colorado College 3-0.
Emily Auch led the team with 17 kills on the day.
Brooke Decker had 42 assists on the first day of the season.
Hannah Terhaar led the team with 26 digs.
Minnesota Morris hit .283 as a team in the first match of the day with 55 kills in four sets.
Cori Becker led the way with 12 kills and a .611 attack percentage.

Mikayla Michaletz each had ten kills.
Brooke Decker had a team high 29 assists. Auch had 15 digs which gave her a double-double on the night.
Freshman
Marissa Ekness and
Hannah Terhaar had team high 18 digs in the first match of the day, leading the defense. The Cougars had a total of 68 digs and three blocks, holding Simpson to just .140 hitting in the match.
Morris held a 15-9 lead in the first set but Simpson rallied to within two points at 18-16. The Cougars scored the next three points, extending the lead back to five. They went on to win the set 25-19. The second set was back and forth until the late in the set when Simpson started to pull away. With the score tied at 14, Simpson went on an 11-4 run, winning the set 25-18.
The Cougars jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the third set as they tried to take control of the match. The lead grew to 12 at 21-9 as they cruised to a 25-15 set three win. Set four was similar to the second set, remaining close until the midway portion of the set. With the set tied at 12, UMM scored six straight points and held an 18-12 lead. Simpson cut the lead to 18-16 but could get now closer and Minnesota Morris closed out the match with a 25-22 set four victory.
Colorado College proved why they are the #8 team in the nation in the Cougars second match of the day winning 25-18, 25-14, 25-14. Minnesota Morris was held to just .009 hitting in the match as Colorado College had 59 digs in the match.
Emily Auch and
Abby Tietz each had a team high seven kills in the match. Auch also added eight digs, tying Terhaar for the team high.
Brooke Decker had 13 assists and seven digs in the match.
The Tigers pulled away from the Cougars around the midpoint of each set on their way to the sleep.
