MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota, Morris has re-retired the jersey of former Cougar All-American and Cougar Hall of Fame member Mike Bah. Bah entered the Cougar HOF in 1993 as one of the first seven inaugural members. He was also part of the first ever Northern Sun Conference Hall of Fame class in 1986.
His jersey was originally retired in 1970 but was re-issued over the years. Bah was an All-American in 1969 and played for the Cougars from 1967-70. Bah was a captain in 1970 and voted Most Valuable Player that same year. He was a two year All-Conference performer as a receiver.
During his career he had 90 catches, 1,688 yards and 11 touchdowns. He was also a great kick and punt returner with 989 career punt return yards and 861 kickoff return yards. Against Bethel he had a 96 yard kickoff return. He also had a 70 yard punt return against Michigan Tech. In 1967 he averaged 24.7 yards per punt return and 32.8 yards per kickoff return.
There is now a display outside of the football office in the P.E. Center to recognize Bah.
