Cobbers Spoil Home Opener

Box Score

The Cougar baseball team fell prey to ungrateful guests as Concordia-Moorhead spoiled their 2010 home opener with a 17-1 rout.

The Cobbers scored two or more runs in five innings while the Cougars tallied just six hits, managing their lone run in the third when right fielder Gary Perrington singled home left fielder Tom Sullivan.

Kyle Blair took the loss for the Cougars, giving up 10 runs on eight hits in 3 1/3 innings of work.  Drake Arvidson relieved Blair and slowed the Cobbers momentum through the middle innings, pitching a scoreless fifth and sixth.

Ian Olson had two hits for the Cougars for a second straight game.

The Cougars host Presentation College in Morris tomorrow afternoon.
