UMM Responds with Victory

Box Score ASHLAND, Wis. – After falling 3-1 on Friday the Cougars (10-8, 9-3 UMAC) responded with a 3-0 win over Northland (4-13-1, 2-9-1 UMAC). Austin Keller had two goals and Matt Vik had a goal and two assists on the day. Morris had 16 shots on the afternoon.
 
Austin Keller scored a goal just 32 seconds into the match, one of the fastest goals in school history. Shingo Yamane and Vik had the assists on the Keller goal. In the 44th minute Keller doubled the Cougars lead thanks to an assist from Vik.
 
Vik scored a goal of his own in the 75th minute; William Wachutka had the assist on the Vik goal. Minnesota Morris out shot Northland 9-1 in the first half and 7-1 in the second half. Jacob Borash earned the shutout for Morris on the afternoon.
 
The Cougars wrap up the 2013 regular season next weekend with home matches against North Central and Northwestern.
