Box Score 1 |
Box Score 2 MORRIS, Minn. – In their final home doubleheader of the year, the Cougars (13-17, 8-9 UMAC) were unable to pick up a victory falling 10-0 and 12-4 to St. Scholastica (24-10, 16-1 UMAC).
Morris was only able to manage three hits in game one as the Saints starter held them in check throughout the game. Offensively for the Saints, they did their scoring in small bunches never scoring more than three in an inning.
Jake Schmitz,
Cody Reinke and
Devin Waldvogel had the hits for the Cougars.
St. Scholastica scored 12 runs in the second game before Morris could get on the board. The Cougars avoided the ten run rule by rallying for four runs in the top of the seventh. Donnie Mavencamp had a two run single to break the shutout.
Kyle Grote added an RBI single and
Eric Terres had a sac fly in the inning.
Tomorrow the Cougars take on Crown College at 6 p.m. as they look to get back in the win column.
