Football Looks to Rebound

MORRIS, Minn. - After a tough week one to the season, the Cougars (0-1) will look to rebound against a tough Greenville (0-1) team. Kickoff is set for noon at Big Cat Stadium. It will be the second straight running team the Cougars face to open the season. Both Morris and Greenville will look to start off the UMAC season with a victory on Saturday. GAME NOTES | WATCH LIVE

Kickin It': Donnie Mavencamp punted the ball six times last Saturday averaging 48.8 yards per punt, which ranks first nationally through one week of play. ,His net average was 42.5 yards per punt.,

Completing the Pass: Donnie Mavencamp,completed 68.2% of his passes on Saturday, ranking 34th the NCAA in completion percentage.

Picking Up Where He Left Off: Cody Hickman had 14 tackles on Saturday which ranks 19th in the,country through the first week of the year.

Running Through It: Greenville will bring their triple option offense to town and look to keep the ball on the ground for much of the game.

Greenville lost 66-24 last weekend but still racked up 346 yards on the ground, averaging 5.9 yards per carry. They had 12 rushing first yards.,

Mistakes Costly: Minnesota Morris allowed three sacks and had a pair of turnovers in their opening day loss. The Cougars were 4 of 13 on third downs last Saturday night. Morris was also 1-3 in the redzone.

The Greenville Panthers had nine penalties and had two turnovers in their loss. In addition, they were also just 3 for 17 on third conversions.,
