MORRIS, Minn. – Minnesota Morris (13-23, 7-11 UMAC) baseball wraps up their season this weekend as the travel to Coon Rapids to take on North Central (6-24, 1-17 UMAC) in a three game series. The Cougars will attempt to reach 10 UMAC victories for the second straight year, tying a school record. Three wins would also give them 16 total wins, the most since 1996 and surpassing last year's total by one.
The three game set starts tomorrow at 3 p.m. with a single game and wraps up on Saturday with a doubleheader starting at noon. Morris has been hitting the ball better over the past few games, hitting over .300 in four of their past six contests.
The Cougars have a chance to finish as high as tied for third in the UMAC but have been eliminated from playoff contention due to tiebreakers. Currently UMM is in seventh but just 3.5 games behind third place Bethany Lutheran who has four games remaining. They are also just .5 games behind sixth place Crown and one game behind fifth place Martin Luther.
North Central comes into the weekend series fresh off a win that snapped a seven game losing streak. The Rams are 1-17 in UMAC games this season, picking up their lone win against Martin Luther on April 11.
