Dale Mehr was a mainstay at quarterback for the Cougars during his four-year career. Named team MVP in 1984 and 1985, he set an NAIA record in total offensive yards in 1984 and set two more conference records in 1985. 

To this day, Mehr holds the Minnesota Morris record for single-season completions (230) and passing attempts (414), along with the single-season record for passing yards (2,871).
